Floor Care Maintenance Value

Springtime is a great season to evaluate all of your preventative maintenance needs. An ideal program will include high-performance interior and exterior entrance mats to catch 80% of soil and moisture at the door. It will also include good quality floor protectors for furniture, cabinets, desks and chair legs. Floor Protectors prevent scratching, grooving and other types of floor damage.

Spring Clean Your Mats

With the dirt of winter behind us, it's important to "spring clean" the mats in your facility. Vacuum all of your mats – top and bottom – because dirt and debris will accumulate in and under them. Deep clean the mats throughout your facility with carpet extraction and hang them to dry.

Now clean the floors underneath them with a neutral floor cleaner. A neutralizer may be needed first to dissolve the winter's ice melt. Keeping floors clean and dry will preserve both floors and mats. Let your floors dry thoroughly before putting mats back into service. Read more about mat cleaning here.

Now is the time to analyze your matting strategy. Do you have the right type of mats in the right lengths for each doorway? We love rough, tough, anti-fade Waterhog mats, which can even be branded for your business. Call Nassco at 800-729-6726 to have one of our experienced floor specialists do a walk-through of your building with you and prepare a customized matting plan.
